Justicelib allows you to send a lawyer in a few minutes and for 10 times cheaper

The Ziegler & Associés firm has developed a catbot based on artificial intelligence to settle disputes of daily life for which the call for the service of a traditional lawyer would cost too much.

Calling on a lawyer to write a formal notice can cost up to 800 euros. In the event that the court must be seized, the invoice may amount, in addition, to 1,500 euros. “If you buy a computer at 2,500 euros that does not work and the seller refuses to reimburse you, request a lawyer is therefore not worth the cost. Ditto to deal with the refusal of a deposit of 2,000 euros in the context of a rental. And these are only two examples”, underlines Maître Jocelyn Ziegler. Starting from this observation, the Parisian law firm Ziegler & Associés has decided to set up a chatbot Automating the settlement of these daily disputes. Objective: to drastically reduce the costs of the legal service. Baptized Justicelibthe service in question is priced 60 euros per file.

“We started from 20 disputes in many areas: purchase on the Internet which has not succeeded, complaint following an appointment with the doctor, conflict with an owner about work …”, lists Jocelyn Ziegler by writing formal notice On their own means, 17 of the injured people had received no response. Only three had obtained an answer, and out of these three, only one had won. From there, the cabinet decides to try the experience. “We then wrote all the formal notices of this panel. We received 16 responses, 14 of which have proven to be positive. This proves that the signature of a lawyer weighs heavily in the balance,” said Jocelyn Ziegler. “At the same time, we noted that the vast majority of French law firms refused to take care of this type of business because the game is not worth the candle.”

The law firm then turned to generative artificial intelligence to create its online service. The underlying model is drawn to the content of Légifrance. Result: depending on the case, the user’s needle chatbot to the right jurisprudential configuration. He asks him a few questions and asked him to provide a certain number of evidence of which he verifies the veracity. In the end, he produced a letter of formal notice which is then reread, validated and signed by lawyers of the firm before being sent directly to the opposing part. The latter responds via a message which is also received by the system which thus integrates the entire process.

“The chatbot avoids costly human interactions in time while chewing the work of the lawyer who only has to go back to the letter,” says Jocelyn Ziegler. “Admittedly, we must correct any errors, but the more we correct, the more AI learns.” Of the first 10 files which have passed so far by Justicelib, eight have won. Two are still awaiting response. The business in question? A suspended bank account, an invoice of an exponential dentist who did not correspond to the services, a loan of money of around 3,000 euros not reimbursed … “The more AI will ingest new data and cases, the more it will be refined in terms of quality of rendering, the objective being to achieve a time of ten minutes spent by our lawyers on each request”, insists Jocelyn Ziegler.
